Riveting, with the twists and turns taking you for a ride you won’t soon forget. A great story of sword and sorcery, leaving you wanting more of it.
A must read for all who love sword and sorcery, this foray into that world brings a new story and characters people will love, and some that we will love to hate.

Well written epic fantasy! Very good story! The plot is well developed and fast moving with strong, well-developed characters that are easy to identify with and yet complex. The battle scenes are intense, and the ending left me eager for more – both on the history of the world the author created and on what happens to the characters afterward. Well written epic fantasy in the middle earth tradition and definitely a must read.

Unlike anything else you’ve read before
This is a story of the good staying true to themselves and fighting the evil brought amongst them. The character were real and easy to identify with. The developement of these characters was well done. I really got a sense of where they were and where they were going. There were turns and surprises that held my attention and drew me deeper into the story. Ever read a book and dream of it? I did with this one. I held certain expectations from other books I’d read on the same subject, but Ms Douglas managed to still surprise me. It was the kind of book I didn’t want to see end. Looking forward to reading more of this authors work.

Wow…it’s just an amazing book. I could see it as a movie in my mind…the book drew me in with the first chapter and instead of being in bed, I’m reading this – at least until my eyes give out and then I’ll finish in the morning. Everything about it is just amazing. The characters are believable and draw you in until you feel as if you know them personally. A great read!
Nike’s Wings
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding espionage/thriller…loved it!,This is the very first book I have read by the author, Valerie Douglas…and I can definitely say that it won’t be the last. Nike’s Wings was so beyond what I was expecting that I am still feeling breathless from the sheer excitement that the story produced in me. This book hits all the high notes that I look forward to in a great read….adventure, political intrigue, espionage, and betrayal at the highest levels, action-filled scenes that still leave my heart pulsing with adrenaline…a love story that defies all odds…and villains that shake you to the core. Do I recommend this…hell yes!!! Do I want more of Nike….hell yes!!!! I have promptly gone and bought all the other books by this talented author…and express sincere encouragement to other readers to get this fabulous book! Kudos to Ms. Douglas. Nike is one character I will not forget soon.
4.0 out of 5 stars a beautiful tale,”Nike’s Wings” is the perfect title for this book. At first I was thinking Fantasy or Sci-Fi, but this book is neither. It is a thriller-romance. I had to look up “parkour,” but became intrigued with it and it’s use by the heroine, Nike. The title and cover both offer a fantastic representation of this character and her story. Although Nike develops unrivaled, perhaps exaggerated skills, she is mostly a believable character the reader can sympathize with, as she struggles to find her true self and place in society. Her story in the settings involving the CIA, international crime, government deception, and in cities and jungles, is told with much attention to detail. I don’t do romance books, but the meeting,re-uniting and further acquaintance of Nike and Ty, is a beautiful tale. I especially like Nike’s holding on to her secret through all of her ordeals. Valerie Douglas is a gifted writer, and I will certainly read more.
